2 servings in 20 min.
- 1 lb (600g) small to medium sized chicken drumsticks
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 Tbs soy sauce
- 1 Tbs sugar
- 2 Tbs cooking sake/white wine
- 1 Tbs fresh ginger (peeled and sliced)
1. Throw everything into a pot.
2. Bring to a boil and simmer. Stir frequently until chicken is caramelized and glazed. Bon appetite!
Tips: Sauce burns quickly. Make sure to bring heat down to a simmer right after boiling.
What to eat it with: Rice. You can also boil water and a little bit of butter in a pan and toss in some broccoli, carrots, bacon and cabbage or other favorite veggies to go along with this dish (salt and sugar optional).

Do you remember the first time you invited your friends over for dinner? Of course, you wanted to invite your besties, which meant you also had to invite their boyfriends. You started drafting and researching your menus and boldly headed to the store.
You politely smile as you wait for the butcher to hand you your scallops. "Your total is $31.12. Can I get you anything else?" WHAT? SCALLOPS COST THAT MUCH? You tell yourself if this is how much it costs to feed people, you are never going to invite anyone again!
It has been 10 years since then, and I have hosted much more friends, but without my purse screaming like my first dinner. In this blog, I would like to share with you fun, delicious and simple dishes you can make. Of course, I'll occasionally share recipes that are more complicated and medium cost, but I promise you, whoever is gifted with this dish, will leave with a grande smile!

Pic to left: My sketch for the first dinner - vegetables, corn soup, Japanese tamagoyaki, 3 scallops with different flavors, miso-salmon and seasoned rice. My friend's boyfriend said it right. "Wow, this is so good. It tastes like it's from a 5 star restaurant!" Lucky you, buddy! You have no clue that it actually costed like a 5 star restaurant which you chowed down in 5 min! You are never being invited again!
