Monsters under the bed are an imaginary fear for many. I struggled with this at different seasons of childhood. My overactive imagination allowed for many sleepless nights!!
In some African cultures beds are elevated so that the ‘tokoloshi’ is not able to climb into bed with the sleeping occupant. One would think elevated beds would be reserved to stave the fear of a child’s active imagination, but in the cultures that believe in the reality of the little ‘devil’ elevated beds are for adults too. I was reminded of this when I came across this –

– ever so cute ‘MozThe Monster’ presentation. If only I had seen this as a child, I would have thought very differently of who and what lived under my bed. Fears would have been removed. A great interpretive lesson – we fear what we do not know, and when we know the reality of assumed fearful situations, they are diminished and even removed when we know the facts. Truth changes everything. It strengthens us and enables us to persevere.
Enjoy this short and very wonderful presentation.
