Crayons! At different stages of our lives we all considered a box of wax crayons the greatest thing to own. Hours of fun could be had with a box of basic colors and a sheet of paper. Then came the coloring books, the melted crayon projects and more. For some of us, we stretched our creativity and used them to write on walls! I still use them for different projects I like to work on. Certainly they are not restricted to be used by children – we can use them too. Do you?

A small box of crayons provides much entertainment to so many of us around the world. You can buy them almost anywhere!

I remember using them in school, at home, and in Sunday school too. How many of us have created our masterpieces with them. I’m sure we have all used them to create skies, rainbows and stars, flowers, animals, and our stick figured family too.

We colored our world with them, and what we hoped it would be. Crayons, encouraged our dreams, and how we saw the world. How stunted our vision of life and the world would be if we did not have crayons to color the world in a way that we saw it, or hoped it would be. A simple crayon allowed us to reveal the wonder of creation as we observed and learned of it.

Crayons, have you ever considered where and how they’re made?

- gives a brief look at how they’re produced and the mammoth undertaking it is – all for our enjoyment. In the providence and sovereignty of God – it is awesome.

  • The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork (Psalm 19:1).

  • When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him (Psalm 8:3-4)?
