Usually I eat healthy. Meals are planned for a few weeks at a time. That way there is always something healthy to eat when stretched for time. However, planned healthy meals do not mean that I pass up on treats. I don’t.
Can you imagine what life would be like without ice-cream?
I readily admit that on occasion I forfeit a healthy planned meal for one of ice-cream. It is my favorite food. I love it! Now, I know ice-cream is not for every day, nor for every other day. And, I think the planned healthy meals are my discipline to not eat ice-cream more often.
For many years, when rushed and stressed passing up on ice-cream was hard for me to do. Now, living in Africa I miss really good ice-cream. I have tried what the locals call good and yummy – I can’t say the same! I still have some on occasion, but it falls short of the yumminess I want!
Last week as I ate a lonely single scoop I decided it needed to stop. I’m paying for something that is not what I really want. And then … a share on Facebook showed ice-cream made in ziplock bags. This I must try. This could be the answer. I can make my own single servings. I can add what I want, and tweak the recipe to my taste. Oh for some creamy, melt in your mouth butter pecan and pecan praline ice-cream. I can hardly wait.
Love this youtube presentation – can you imagine making this with a bunch of girls from church! A great fellowship opportunity!
